Built From The Inside Out
Every Bezoo board begins as a collection of raw materials and a shared vision. Through a process of design, craftsmanship, and countless hours of handwork, each board is transformed into something built to perform, endure, and tell its own story.
1. The Vision
Your shape. Your finish. Your board.
It begins with choosing the Bezoo shape that best suits the way you surf. From there, the board becomes your own. We talk through your preferred finish, timber layout, visual details, and the overall feel you want the board to carry.
This is where function and personality meet. The shape gives the board its purpose in the water. The finish gives it its character on land. Together, they become the starting point for a board built specifically for you.
2. The Core
The heart of the board.
The internal core is one of the most important parts of a Bezoo board. Long before the deck is attached or the rails are finished, the board’s rocker, curves, outline, volume distribution, strength, weight, and balance are already being defined here.
Precision-cut from marine ply, the core acts as the board’s hidden architecture. It determines how the board carries speed, how it paddles, how it sits in the water, and how it responds underfoot.
This is where the performance is engineered. Everything that follows is built around it.
3. The Timber
Where character enters the build.
The deck and bottom timber are prepared, matched, and joined with care. Grain direction, tone, balance, and visual flow all matter.
This is where the board begins to take on its own identity. Long before the final finish, the natural character of the timber starts shaping the look and feel of the finished piece.
4. The Shell
The board begins to take form.
The bottom deck is bonded to the frame first, followed by the top deck. Piece by piece, the hollow structure is enclosed and the board begins to reveal its outline, volume, and presence.
At this stage, it stops looking like materials and starts becoming a surfboard.
5. The Details
Every detail matters.
The rails are laminated and blended seamlessly into the board. Every surface is refined by hand, ensuring smooth transitions, clean lines, and a finish worthy of the materials beneath.
This stage is less about creating the shape and more about perfecting it. It is where patience, experience, and attention to detail leave their mark on every board.
6. The Finish
Built to last.
Fin boxes and plugs are installed before the board is fiberglassed, sealed, and protected. Multiple finishing stages preserve the beauty of the timber while creating a durable outer shell ready for years of use.
The final sanding, polishing, and inspection are carried out by hand before the board leaves the workshop, ready to create a lifetime of stories both in and out of the water.
